Virtual Utility
Where a Contractor has to execute an Instruction on behalf of a Utility that is not on the WeBill system, the Contractor has to register that Utility as a Virtual Utility.
The Contractor will have to load the Meters of the Virtual Utility, the meter loading process is done in Field Manager but is very similar to the process in the Portfolio module. (hyperlink to portfolio module process)
The Contractor who creates a virtual utility will manage that virtual utility. All the functions available to a utility are available to a virtual utility except the following:
- Cannot register Agents
- Cannot assign instructions to agents
- Cannot allocate instruction to other contractors
In essence, all instructions emanating from a virtual utility go directly to the contractor who created the virtual utility.
A Virtual Utility can never be a Contractor to a registered Organisation. Furthermore, there is no bidirectional relationship.
