Read Schedule
A Read Schedule defines the frequency of the expected Meter Reads for the Meters associated with the Schedule. This is important for many aspects of the utility management life-cycle, especially for billing. For example, where a monthly bill needs to be generated, there needs to be a least one Meter Read per month.
The Read Schedule is not responsible for the execution of the Readings, but rather it acts as a barometer of the number of readings expected in the time frame designated on the Schedule.
The Attributes of a Read Schedule
- Unique and descriptive name in the Organisation. For example: Read Schedules for the monthly billing of malls in Gauteng.
- Read type
- The source of the Reading
- There can only be one Read type per Schedule
- If you require the same Attribute for a different Read Type, a new Schedule needs to be created.
- Read frequency, which indicates the time frame of the Readings. For example:
- WeBill single phase Meters read 24 times a day
- Water Meters read once a day.
- Eskom Meters are read once a quarter.
Alerts, Warnings and Actions
In the event that Readings are missed, alerts, warnings and actions are triggered. For example, 24 Readings are expected per day from a WeBill single phase meter. Should only 20 Readings be received, an alert will be triggered.
