Subsidiary
The Subsidiary relationship is designed to emulate the situation where one Organisation has several subsidiaries reporting to it. In most cases, there is a legal connection between the Parent and its Subsidiaries.
The Parent Organisation may have any number of Subsidiary Organisations. It is possible that one Subsidiary can be a Parent of another Subsidiary.
Linking a Subsidiary
A Subsidiary can be linked in one of two ways.
- When the Subsidiary is already a Registered Organisation.
- Linking is by invitation.
- The Parent can only send the invitation to a registered Organisation.
- The Parent is only linked to the Subsidiary once the Subsidiary accepts the invitation.
- When the Subsidiary is not registered as an Organisation.
- The Parent registers the Subsidiary.
- The Super User of the Parent becomes the Super User of the Subsidiary.
- On registration of the Subsidiary, the Parent and Subsidiary are linked.
- On registration of the Subsidiary, the contextual Organisation is switched from the Parent to the Subsidiary.
Delinking a Subsidiary
- A Parent can de-link from a Subsidiary.
- A Subsidiary cannot de-link from a Parent.
User Access
- Users in the Parent can be granted access to the Subsidiary.
- Users in the Subsidiary cannot be granted access to the Parent.
