Notifications are notices received by the Consumer. Notifications are sent to both the Consumer App and the email address used in the Consumer App registration.
Certain notifications are sent based on configurations made by the Consumer on the Consumer App. Other notifications are sent automatically by the WeBill platform, having been triggered by a significant event.
Meter Configurations

- Configurations are set by the Consumer on the Consumer in the app.
- If the configurations are not set up, the Consumer will not receive notifications relating to these Configurations.
- Configurations can be set up globally and these Configurations will apply to all the Meters on the Consumer App.
- Configurations can be set up per Meter. It is recommended that Configurations are set up per Meter, as different Configurations may be required for different Meters: Water Meters, Three Phase Meters; Single Phase Meters.
There are four Configuration categories:
- Time-based
- Event-triggered based on time: daily; weekly; monthly.
- A notification will be received based on the elected time frequency. If “daily” has been selected, a daily notification will be sent.
- Consumption
- Event-triggered based on Utility consumption.
- If the consumption Configuration is set to 20 kWh on an electric Meter, a notification will be sent for every 20 kWh consumed.
- Spend
- Event-triggered based on charge threshold for a Meter.
- If the spend Configuration is set to R20.00, a notification will be sent for every R20.00 spent.
- Balance
- The event triggered based on the balance of each Meter.
- If the balance Configuration is set to R40.00, a notification will be sent when the Available Balance is less than R40.00.
All the configured notifications follow the same format, emailed and pushed to the app.
