Upload
The most common methodology for creating Sites, registering Consumers, and registering Meters, is through a CSV file upload. The success of the Upload Process is dependent on the accuracy of the information and adherence to the requirements of the uploaded document format.
A Site that has been uploaded, can be modified with subsequent uploads, or manually modified.
The Upload Process has been tested to a maximum of 30 000 rows. Any uploaded file with more than 30 000 rows should be split into files with no more than 30 000 rows per file.
Once the upload begins the Upload Job Page tracks the progress of the upload. The upload can happen in the background whilst other tasks can be performed.
File Upload Considerations:
- The Sites and Units are registered first.
- Duplicate Sites are determined by the same name and address
- Sites with different addresses and the same name, will be registered
- Sites with the same name and no address, will not be uploaded.
- No row will be uploaded if there is no Site name or address.
- Units with the same name associated with the same Site will not be uploaded.
- Meters in each row are registered into the Device Module. If Meters have been previously registered, they are not re-registered.
- Duplicate Meters are determined by the Meter number.
- Consumers are registered as Consumers of the Organisation. If Consumers have been previously registered, they are not re-registered.
- Duplicate Consumers are determined by their ID. If the ID is not supplied, there could be duplicate Consumers.
- Registered Meters and Consumers are then associated with Sites or Units.
On the completion of the Upload Process, a full report is available. It is necessary to work through the report to verify, edit and confirm the Sites, Units, and associations. To activate a Site, the Site address needs to be confirmed.
