Associating Meters, Tariffs and Consumers
A Meter must first be registered with the Organisation in the Device Module for it to be associated with a Site or Unit. The Upload Process is an exception to this rule, in which case the Meters are automatically registered on upload.
For a Meter to be associated with a Site or Unit, the Meter needs to be located using the Device Search. This search feature allows for a range of filters to quickly retrieve the requested Meter.
Search filters include:
- Installed
- This will display the Meters that have been installed in the Organisation.
- Not Installed
- This will display the Meters that have not been installed in the Organisation.
- Any registered meter
- Display all Meters in the Organisation, whether they are installed or not.
- Register a new Meter
- On selection, you will be taken to the Device Module, where a new Meter can be registered with the Organisation.
There are four types of Meter associations:
- Metering
- The Meter measures the consumption at the associated Unit
- The Meter is not Installed at the associated Unit
- A condition for a metering-only association is that the Meter is installed at another Unit within the Site. A Meter cannot be metered unless it is installed.
- Installed
- The Meter is physically installed at the associated Unit
- The Meter does not meter at the associated Unit
- Metering and Installed
- A Meter is installed and metering at the associated Unit.
- Checked
- A Meter is checking another Meter; invariably a Meter is checking a municipal meter.
- This Check Meter is installed beside the municipal meter.
